When Fizzics first announced their countertop draft system, many were skeptical. When it finally came out, though, it turned out to be a pleasant surprise, bringing out aromas and a creamier texture that made drinking even a bottle of cheap swill a whole lot better. The Fizzics Waytap is the second generation of that device, bringing a more compact footprint and an undeniably sleeker profile.

There’s not much change in terms of how the device functions. You place a bottle of beer inside the contraption, put your pint in front of the spout, and pull out the tap handle to pour the Bud, Coors, or whatever brand you chug every night. After you get a good chunk of your favorite swill, you then push in the tap handle to top your drink with a delicious load of foamy suds.

The big change in the Fizzics Waytap comes in the design. Instead of the large countertop device that looked better at home in a kitchen countertop than a mini-bar, this one is way smaller, coming in at a third of the original’s size. It also looks a whole lot like the top section of the draft machines you see at the bar, making it the perfect addition to your mini-bar setup at home.

A versatile machine, it supports both cans (12oz, 16oz, and 25oz) and bottles (12oz only because of the compact size), so you can use it, regardless of how you buy your beer.  It’s portable, too, requiring just four AA batteries to run.

A Kickstarter campaign is currently running for the Fizzics Waytap. Pledges to reserve a unit starts at $90.
