It looks like an aviator watch straight out of World War II, but there’s nothing vintage about the Carpenter Brooklyn Field Watch. Despite the heirloom looks, this watch is entirely modern, with a contemporary styling and design that makes it ideal for use as an everyday timepiece.

As you may have guessed, this is based on rugged military-issue watches from the mid-1900s, albeit with an aesthetic that’s geared towards simplicity and practical use. The result is a handsome homage to the classics that should wear well, whether you’re buttoning up for work, dressing up for a night out, or donning casual threads for a relaxed day at the park.

The Carpenter Brooklyn Field Watch comes in three flavors: M1, M2, and M3. All three use the same single-piece 40mm case and dial design, although each iteration gets varying color schemes and materials. Both the M1 and M2, for instance, use stainless steel for the case, while the M3 is cut in brass, with the M1 getting a cream dial and the other two wearing a matte black background. All three sport the same hour markings on the inside with minute markings on the outside and a date window at the 3 o’clock position.
