We’re big admirers of the Audi A8 L, with its imposing size, commanding presence, and highly refined styling. Apparently, so is one wealthy European customer who wanted an Audi A8 L, but needed it with enough room to seat six people. This Audi A8 L Extended is the result.

A custom six-door version of the erstwhile four-door sedan, it’s, basically, the A8 L transformed into a business limousine. Or a funeral car. Or both, depending on the business interests of its owner. It retains all of the cosmetic elements that defined the original car, so it still looks like an A8 L from any angle, albeit with profile that’s much longer than the third-gen luxury car.

The Audi A8 L Extended is 3.6 feet longer than the original model, allowing the outfit to cram in three full rows of seating, complete with a bevy of luxury appointments to make sure every one of its six occupants travel in utmost comfort. It retains the same 3.0-liter TFSI engine that powers the sedan, producing 210 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque. Despite the size (the darn thing weighs 5,331 pounds), it performs quite nimbly on that engine, as it’s able to go from 0 to 60 in as little as 7.1 seconds.

Features include an eight-speed Tiptronic transmission, permanent all-wheel drive, 19-inch wheels, and rigidity that’s almost on par with the A8 L. Each row of seats get access to the sky using individual sun blinds, along with Valcona leather upholstery, electronically-adjustable seating positions, a continuous center console, and a cooler.
