6D Helmet’s ODS Technology has been one of the more intriguing advances in helmets in the past few years, reinforcing the traditional head protection with a fully-active suspension and kinetic energy management system. And while they’ve sold both motorcycle and downhill biking helmets using the tech in the past, the rest of the wider cycling community haven’t quite benefited from their innovations. That changes now with the 6D ATB-1T, a helmet designed for mountain bike trail riders.

Like their other ODS Technology headgear, this cycling helmet is made up of a polycarbonate outer shell and two layers of EPS liners, with 27 elastic isolation dampers spread out in between the liners. During impact, those dampers cause the outer shell to uncouple the impact force from the rider’s head while the inner liner displaces across a three-dimensional plane, significantly reducing the amount of energy the rider’s head absorbs.

The 6D ATB-1T MTB Trail Helmet comes fitted with a modular carrier system for the ODS tech, allowing you to have the inner EPS liner replaced during damage to give the headgear a longer lifespan.  It comes with a visor that can be adjusted at the right angle to block out the sun, apart from removing completely for those times it’s not needed. Features include a Fidlock magnetic buckle system, a ratcheting fit retention mechanism, 15 air vents for maximum cooling, and a washable comfort liner. You can get the helmet in any of six colorways.
