Fortunately, Apple just updated their 21.5-inch iMac model with a whole new Retina display that should upgrade you to the ultra-HD category.
Not only is the new iMac display sharper, it’s using an entirely new display with a wide color gamut that allows it to show 25 percent more colors than the previous generation’s screen. That means, you’ll get to enjoy stronger shades and more accurate color reproduction, all while looking more vibrant than ever, whether you’re doing the layout for a digital magazine, poring over photographs, or sinking even more productive time on your Netflix binging habit.
Inside, the 21.5-inch Apple iMac is also getting a refresh. Core specs now include Intel’s Broadwell processors, Intel Iris Pro 6200 graphics, and up to 16GB of RAM. For storage, users can opt for all-flash up to 1TB, as well as various Fusion Drive combos, the largest of which pairs a 128GB flash drive with a 3TB HDD. Other features include four USB 3.0 slots, two Thunderbolt 2.0 ports, three-stream WiFi, Bluetooth 4, and a FaceTime HD camera. Despite the hardware upgrade, it retains the same familiar slim enclosure as before, so you get extra power without the extra footprint.
